On some occasions, when a tibbe lock is weathered, or the vehicle is deadlocked, it can take a fair amount of force to open the lock. In this event, the lock can be decoded with the dial-type pick, and then, knowing the combination, fairly easily SPP'd with the key-type pick. The second pick can also be used on its own, but is not as efficient as the dial-type pick for this.
